OUR SITES
Not all Weinviertel wines are the same! Our vineyard wines show just how diverse our Poysdorf can be. Depending on the soil type and climatic influences, characteristic nuances of taste emerge. The spectrum ranges from the classic, fruity Weinviertel DAC to the powerful Grüner Veltliner GG Ried Hofgärten.

RIED HUNDSBERG, WALDBERG & HOLZBREITE
The Hundsberg is a basin in which our vineyards are protected from strong winds. Meanwhile, the name “Waldberg” (forest hill) indicates that woodland used to predominate there. In both vineyards, the vines are largely planted on calcareous, silty loess or loess loam. Holzbreite, on the other hand, with its deep Black Forest soils, is one of the highest of the sites we cultivate. The lower temperatures allow the grapes to fully ripen and produce a muscular Gewürztraminer.

RIED SCHNEIDERBERG & HOFGÄRTEN
The small Schneiderberg vineyard, partly interspersed with trees, faces south-west and has a steep slope of up to 20 degrees in places. The south-western exposure and the proximity to a large wooded area to the north result in pronounced temperature fluctuations between day and night, giving the grapes a distinctive acidity. Ried Hofgärten, on the other hand, is characterized by many hours of sunshine throughout the year. The mineral components of the soil give the wines a special freshness and elegance.
